Did you know that Florida is a very sub-tropical atmosphere?  How about the fact that Florida has the most insect, arachnid, and crustacean pests in the United States?!

Palmetto Bugs Are Ugly!

Palmetto Bugs, as they are commonly called, are actually in the roach family.  They are predominantly an outdoor pest, but will occasionally find their way indoors.

They find their way in due to weather conditions, most notably due to a lock of moisture, or too much.  Basically, extreme weather conditions, especially during the warmer months, will cause an occasional sighting.

Don't be alarmed!  This is a very common occurance.  We provide prescription treatments to prevent infestations from taking place.

Those "Pesky" Little Flies...

Are you experiencing those little flies that show up at the most inconvenient times?  Well, these flies, commonly referred to by many names including fruit, sewer, pond and stagnant water flies, can infest your home in a variety of ways.

They can enter through a vacuum into your home when doors or windows open.  They can be brought in with fresh fruit or vegetables.  The introduction of these flies are quite common.

To control such pests, it si important to have proper sanitation practices.  The most notable control is to keep your garbage disposal clean on a regular basis.  This can be accomplished several ways: running hot water with liquid dishwashing soap while the disposal runs and/or putting ice down your disposal while it runs.  These practices should be accomplished daily while you are experiencing a concern and at least once per week when no activity is noticed.

All of the bath drains should also be addressed with liquid detergent while hot water is running.

It is important to keep accumulation of garbage to a minimum and to clean garbage cans or containers on a regular basis.

Vegetable bins or any other containers must be inspected and cleaned on a regular basis.

If you have a storage room that you utilize for garbage or vegetation accumulation, those areas must be kept extremely clean.  Elimination of garbage must be constant and rotation of stock (vegetation) must be frequent.

Your attention to these areas will eliminate or greatly reduce any existing concern.

Spiders Are Creepy!

Spiders, an enemy of most other pest invaders (as they use them for a food source), will occasionally find their way indoors.  ALthough they are a natural pest eliminator, we also recognize that most people can become uncomfortable when encountering them.

They find their way indoors due to weather conditions (notably a lack of moisture or too much).  Basically, extreme weather conditions (especially during the warmer months) will cause an occasional sighting.

Don't be alarmed.  This is a very common occurance.  We provide prescription treatments to prevent infestations from taking place.

What is that Shiny, Fast Critter?

The Silverfish and it's cousin, the Firebrat, are harmless pests to humans.

Silverfish prefer damp, cool places.  The most common area to find them are closets, especially when doors remain shut, holding in moisture.

They are especially common invaders with new construction, which will produce sightings throughout the home.

The Firebrat is equally common, except typically found in warmer locations, such as laundry closets, etc.

These pests are very common in appearance, are slow breeders, and can be easily controlled.

Please understand that, especially within apartment communities, these pests thrive and occasional sightings are expected.

Bed Bugs are infesting Florida!

Adult bedbugs are reddish brown, flattened, oval, and wingless, with microscopic hairs that give them a banded appearance.

A common misconception is that they are not visible to the naked eye, but adults grow to 4 to 5 mm (one-eighth to three-sixteenths of an inch) in length and do not move quickly enough to escape the notice of an attentive observer.

Through proper treatments, we can help you rid your home of these common pests.
